Robert Downey Jr named highest paid actor in 2013
1. Robert Downey Jr $75M
Robert Downey Jr, the charismatic star of Iron Man 3, topped Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors, with earnings estimated at $75 million.
Channing Tatum, who financed and starred in Magic Mike, a film about male strippers, loosely based on the experiences of Tatum, who was a male stripper at 18 years of age.
Magic made $167 million, beefing up the actors pay to $60 million.
Hugh Jackman is an Australian actor who is best known for his role as wolverine in the X-Men movies.
His Role as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables was nominated for an oscar and helped the musical earn $438 million on a budget of $61 million.
4. Mark Wahlberg $52 million
According to Forbes, starring in TED, help put Mark Wahlberg on the list. He will be starring in the next installment of Transformers hitting the big screens in summer 2014.
5. Dwayne Johnson $46 million
Also Known As “The Rock” went from wrestler to credible hollywood star. At least the numbers don’t lie. Fast and furious 6 grossed over $500 Million at the box-office in less that two weeks.
6. Leonardo DiCaprio $39 million
The star of the 1997 titanic, which remains his biggest film ever. The 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby, made over $250 million at the box office.
7. Adam Sandler $37 million
According for Forbes, Adam Sandler makes the list as he can still demand top dollar for films like grown up 2. Sandlers live action movies have struggled at the box office.
The animated Hotel Transylvania is Sandler’s biggest movie to date, grossing $347 million the box office on an $85 million budget.
8. Tom Cruise $35 million
Tom cruise still remains one of the biggest stars in hollywood, although his 2012 film jack reacher did not do well in the US box office, bringing in only $80 million. The $60 million film grossed a total of $217 million in the foreign box office.
9. Denzel Washington $33 million
Denzel Washington took a pay cut in the movie Flight, which was considered risky in exchange for a bigger share at the backend. The move paid off, as the $31 million Budget earned $162 million in the box-office.
10. Liam Neeson $32 million
Liam Neeson has made Forbes top 10 list of highest earners in 2013, for starring in low budget and high return movies, like The Taken and The Grey.
