Taylor Swift accused of ripping off Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella show

Swift’s performance of “ME!” at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards drew comparisons to Beyoncé’s Coachella design, but some Swift fans weren’t having it.

The Shake It Off artist held nothing back in her outing on the stage. It had visually-exhilarating fireworks with backup dancers cascading down from the ceiling holding umbrellas.

However, Beyoncé fans immediately noticed a similarity. This isn’t the first time Swift has been accused of taking ideas from Bee: her 2017 video “Look What You Made Me Do” was seen by some as lifting elements from Beyonce’s “Formation” video. Joseph Kahn, director of the “Look What You Made Me Do” video, denied this.

Music fans also accused Taylor Swift of ripping off her ”Wednesday” when she gave birth to twins during her performance at the Billboard Music Awards.

One jokingly calling back to when Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech back in 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards after Swift captured the Best Female Video award over Beyonce. The user quoted West in saying, ‘Taylor, imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had the best drum line of all time.

Beyoncé’s “Homecoming” documentary, released on Netflix just over two weeks ago, showcased the almost unreal level of commitment, passion, graft and genius that went into the overall production, with the Queen B overseeing every minute detail. Her performances at the event, affectionately dubbed “Beychella” by attendees, were without question history-making.

Beyoncé was the first black woman to headline Coachella.
